OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – At a meeting at the Ohio County Board of Education, the board honored and congratulated 14 retiring employees.
These individuals have a combined 379 years of service in education – nearly 4 centuries!
We spoke with one of those retirees, Choral Director and Music Teacher Joyce Jingle about her thoughts as she gets ready to begin the next stage.
She tells us that she spent nearly all of her 45 year career working for Ohio County, and plans to stay involved in the arts and community.
“It is bittersweet. You get to the point where you want the rest, you want a break, you don’t want an alarm clock anymore. But at the same time, I’m really going to miss the kids. That’s the part for me that was my fulfillment, you know, working with the students.”
