Talk about ending prom season with a loud bang! The candidates of Merryland High School Entebbe (Kigungu and Katabi campuses) hosted their prom right at the tail end of the first term holiday, and boy, they did save the best for last!

With the pressure high to match the standards already set by schools such as Elite High, Seeta Schools, and the NGO-GYZA combo, among other single sex school combos, Merryland had to raise the bar. And truth be told, they did not disappoint. The prom was held at the Kigungu campus, chosen mainly for its breathtaking lakeside view, which gave the event a serene but luxurious feel.

Instead of the usual school hall setup, this year’s edition was taken outside into a silver, see-through dome tent that allowed in all the natural light while keeping the heat away. The venue alone told everyone that this was not going to be an average school party. The day started off early with a vibrant cocktail session—mocktails of all kinds served with flair as students mingled, posed for photos, and hyped up the vibe.

Couples took this time to plan their grand entrances and enjoy the mood before the red carpet officially opened. Now, when it comes to style, Merryland students clearly understood the assignment. From glittering gowns to fitted tuxes, everyone came looking sharp.

The school gardens were filled with luxury cars—sleek, polished rides that had been lined up in convoy style to chauffeur students from the dorm area to the venue. Some drove themselves, others hired drivers, and a few decided to add drama with motorbike escorts that roared through the school, turning heads. But the real showstopper of the evening was a couple that arrived by speedboat across Lake Victoria!

Yep, as others waited in traffic on the school paths, this duo glided in from the water, hopping into their already waiting ride that dropped them right at the red carpet. Talk about an entrance! The evening flowed into a delicious dinner, fun dance sessions, and thoughtful speeches from the prom committee and school heads, reminding candidates to enjoy the moment but keep their dreams in focus.
