The Mystery Surrounding the MCU X-Men Movie
There has been a lot of speculation in recent months about who will be directing the upcoming X-Men movie set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). One name that has frequently come up is Jake Schreier, the director of Thunderbolts. However, Schreier has remained tight-lipped about any official confirmation of his involvement.
During a recent interview with ComicBook, Schreier was briefly congratulated on the potential role. He responded by quickly dismissing any notion of an official announcement. Schreier mentioned that he couldn’t discuss even the rumors surrounding his potential casting. In a lighthearted moment, he joked about requesting that the film be titled “Uncanny X-Men” to the right people.
In another interview with ComingSoon, Schreier took a similar approach when asked about his history with the X-Men characters and his thoughts on the team. Instead of providing a direct answer, he chose to “plead the fifth,” referencing the way internet rumors can spiral out of control.
“I am, only just knowing the way the internet works, I’m gonna plead the fifth on this question. Just because things get… you know how it goes. But, yeah, I’m so sorry.”
What We Know About the MCU X-Men Film
As of now, there is very little information available about the X-Men movie that will be part of the MCU. The original cast from the X-Men film series, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, is expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026. However, their roles in the film are still unclear.
Recent rumors suggest that Bryan Cranston might be in the running for the role of Professor X. However, no official confirmation has been made yet. The latest update on the project came earlier this year when Nate Moore, Marvel Studios’ VP of Production & Development, mentioned that the studio is still in the “early, early days” of rebooting the X-Men storyline.
Upcoming MCU Projects
While details about the X-Men movie remain scarce, the MCU has several high-profile films scheduled for release in the coming years. These include:
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Expected to debut in 2026.
- Avengers: Doomsday – Set for release in 2026.
- Avengers: Secret Wars – Scheduled to drop in 2027.
These films are part of a larger plan to expand the MCU and bring new stories to the big screen. With the X-Men movie still in development, fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on what could be one of the most anticipated projects in the franchise’s history.
