LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) – The West Virginia Renaissance Festival has been a staple of the Greenbrier County area for many years.
As the only Ren Fest in the State, many visitors flock to the valley to dress up, score some food, and of course, enjoy the Jousting!
So what makes the West Virginia Renaissance Festival so special? We asked one of the Owners and Operators what his favorite part of hosting the event is.
“It’s kind of like the State Fair in costume. So there are games, there is rides, there is music all day long from 11 until 8 at night,” said Taso Stavrakis.
If Unicorns and Jousting are not your thing, do not worry, there are many shows to choose from. One of the many shows you can visit is the ‘Nature of Mercy’ Pirate Show.
These performances may just grab your attention at the crack of a whip.
Some even have great messages of kindness and mercy to go along with them!
One performer of the ‘Nature of Mercy’ show, told us her favorite part about visiting West Virginia.
“Incredibly beautiful. Look at how glorious it is here up on this mountain. I love that everybody here is family. I love that the people come with their children and they are part of my show,” said Francesca Arrabiata.
If you need to let off some steam at the end of the day at the festival, you could head on down to the Veg-ta-ble Justice stand.
For varying prices, you can lob a tomato at a heckler, to release that tension after a long day at the festival.
