Takoradi, May 25, GNA – Mr. Eric Kofi Ansah, the Human Resources Manager at Justmoh Group of Companies, urged newly hired staff members to combine their skills with strong moral values to establish themselves and gain recognition in their professional lives.
He stated that skills and a constructive mindset go together in the job market and urged recent graduates from the World University Services of Canada, WUSC project-INVEST, to demonstrate qualities like modesty, integrity, and trustworthiness as they embark on their careers.
Mr. Ansah, who presided over the graduation ceremony organized by the Ghana Chamber of Construction featuring 100 female apprentices in various trades such as welding and fabrication, computer hardware and software development, electrical and solar system installation, and automobile repair.
The females have demonstrated that these trade sectors were not solely reserved for men; indeed, under suitable conditions and within an appropriate setting, women too could make their mark.
The Human Resource Manager advised against focusing on gender stereotypes and similar misconceptions that might crush their aspirations, stating, “disregard traditional gender roles… in the Kingdom of God, there is no distinction between male and female; we are all considered equals… strive to benefit your families, yourself, and Ghana as a whole.”
Mr. Elvis Appiah-Kubi, the Project Director, stated that the graduation ceremony signified the culmination of a dream aimed at empowering girls to excel in traditionally male-dominated sectors, where they previously had to overcome significant challenges.
“This marks the third and concluding graduation of the project, demonstrating to Ghana that it is indeed feasible for women to pursue careers as technicians and engineers,” he noted.
He encouraged government officials to focus on enhancing women’s abilities in order to generate job opportunities, promote self-reliance, and foster independence.
Mr Emmanuel Cherry, the CEO of the Chamber of Construction, encouraged the women to leverage their skills to transform their circumstances and advised them against returning to idleness. Instead, he emphasized applying this newfound knowledge and expertise for their individual development.
The Takoradi Technical Institute, Sekondi-Takoradi Technical Institute, and Kansa Motors received enthusiastic recognition from the Chamber of Commerce for their efficiency in carrying out the process.
Some of the graduates were provided with tools typically associated with startups to begin their work journey.
