World’s Second Most Stunning Island Claims Another Title at Travel+Leisure Awards

Phu Quoc in southern Vietnam ranked third in a list of world’s 10 best islands at this year’s Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, affirming its popularity on global tourism map.

Bali topped the list, followed by Koh Samui in Thailand.

Palawan in the Philippines ranked fourth, followed by Phuket in Thailand and Langkawi in Malaysia.

The rest of the top 10 were Sri Lanka, Sumba in Indonesia, Penang in Malaysia and Siargao in the Philippines.

Nominees were selected by the Travel+Leisure team of editors and expert contributors across Asia Pacific, and the winners were chosen based on a public vote.

The Vietnam’s largest island has received about 4.4 million tourist arrivals, including 881,990 foreigners this year. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND21.6 trillion (US$828 million), up 92.6% compared to the same period last year. It aims to attract 1 million foreign visitors in 2025.
