LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is set to begin receiving grant applications designed to improve wildlife observation and nature-related activities throughout the state.
Supported by the Wildlife Conservation Fund, the Watchable Wildlife Grants promote initiatives that enable individuals to foster a deeper understanding and care for Nebraska’s natural resources via interactive activities.
Qualified candidates consist of individuals, non-profit entities, governmental bodies, and businesses that operate for profit. Initiatives must concentrate on enhancing the experience of observing wildlife and contribute in a beneficial way to natural resources and animal populations.
Possible projects might involve constructing wildlife observation platforms or decks, establishing habitats for pollinators, offering binoculars and identification guides to guests, or arranging wildlife viewing activities. Creative approaches to improving the wildlife watching experience are highly encouraged.
Applications for funding will be welcomed from August 4 to October 3, 2025, with grants available up to $6,000 per application.
To apply, go to OutdoorNebraska.gov and look for “Watchable Wildlife Grants.” Submit applications by 5 p.m. Central Time on October 3rd.
