Sports journalist Taylor Rooks surprised her followers this week by revealing that she is now a married individual.
The well-known media personality, recognized for her contributions to Amazon’s NFL broadcasts and previously with TNT and Bleacher Report, announced the news on Instagram, sharing sophisticated images from her private wedding.
Rooks’ new spouse is Shane Fowler, a name that many had not previously recognized. This is due to the couple’s decision to maintain their relationship in complete secrecy — no public outings, no red carpet appearances, and no social media updates.
Fowler graduated from Harvard Law School, and the two connected during his last year at the institution. As Rooks mentioned, his composed and confident personality contributed to the success of their relationship outside of public attention.
“He is genuinely the most encouraging and dependable man,” she mentioned in anearlier interview, before disclosing his identity. “Our love is ours.”
The ceremony was held on July 19 at Gotham Hall in New York City. In order to maintain an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, attendees were requested to leave their phones behind and there were no prior notifications about the event.
Although it was a private event, the guest list included many well-known individuals. NBA players Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Donovan Mitchell were in attendance, as well as Saquon Barkley and Jack Harlow, a close friend of Rooks.
Per GQ, Rooks made her way down the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky” and she and Fowler enjoyed their first dance to Lauryn Hill’s “Nothing Even Matters.” The festivities later moved to the high-end Zero Bond club in Manhattan.
Prior to their wedding, Fowler added a unique element — a treasure hunt throughout New York City, concluding with a warm meal at the couple’s preferred pizzeria. Rooks recounted the moment, and the man, in simple terms: “His promises brought everyone to tears. I keep remembering them over and over.”
What Comes Next for Taylor Rooks?
Following their wedding, the couple traveled to Greece for their honeymoon. Although Rooks has maintained her personal life away from the public eye, fans are eager to catch a glimpse of their romantic vacation.
Regarding her professional journey, Rooks is set to come back to Amazon’s Thursday Night Football this fall and will become part of the NBA commentary squad for the next season.
Even in today’s world of social media, Rooks demonstrated that love—when safeguarded—can glow the most brightly.
