Exploring the Magic of a White Christmas Tree
One of my favorite experiences while traveling to Dallas with Carrie for Trendy Tree is taking time to walk through the showrooms. I always enjoy soaking in the beautifully decorated Christmas trees that fill these spaces. On this particular trip, I was especially delighted to discover that John Mark had designed the trees in the Craig Bachman showroom. His “Dreaming of a White Christmas” tree immediately caught my eye. It’s an elegant display of snowy florals, frosted textures, and sparkling white layers that truly capture the magic of the season.
If you’re interested in seeing this stunning tree up close, I filmed a YouTube Short during my visit to the showroom. You can watch it now on the Trendy Tree channel, where it offers a closer look at all the intricate details. The frosty florals and dramatic sprays make this tree truly unforgettable.
How to Create a “Dreaming of a White Christmas” Look
Looking for white Christmas tree inspiration? You don’t need the exact designer pieces to achieve this frosted, elegant style. With just a few key elements and a bit of planning, you can create the same magical winter look in your own home. Here’s how:
The Tree
Start with a Flocked or Heavily Frosted Tree: A flocked tree creates that snowy base and sets the tone for a winter wonderland look.
Incorporate White Florals and Frosted Picks: Look for oversized white poinsettias, peonies, frosted greenery, and glittered sprays. Many floral picks and bushes come with green leaves, but don’t let that stop you—just strip away the greenery to keep the look clean and wintry. (And don’t toss those leaves! Save them for another craft project down the line.)
White, Ivory, and Cream All Work Beautifully: Your white Christmas tree inspiration doesn’t have to be strictly white. In fact, blending shades like ivory, off-white, and cream adds warmth and visual interest—and it also gives you a lot more decorating options. Even touches of silver, gold, or crystal can complement the look and elevate the overall design.
Mix Ornament Finishes and Sizes for Depth: Don’t stick to just one style—combine shiny, matte, and glittered ornaments to add texture and sparkle. Use various sizes, placing the larger ones deeper into the branches to create depth, and smaller ones closer to the outer edges for a layered, designer look.
Use Long Sprays & Picks to Add Height and Drama: Create height by placing tall sprays at the top of your tree—this simple trick can make a 7-foot tree look like it’s 9 or even 10 feet tall. I also love using long, droopy sprays around the bottom, letting them gently sweep the floor. It adds a beautiful, flowing shape to the tree. I personally don’t pile Christmas presents underneath, opting to display them elsewhere in the room—but that’s just my preference!
Add Icy Accents for a True Winter Wonderland Feel: Icicles, snowflake ornaments, and a light dusting of faux snow spray help enhance the frosty theme. You can even pile up some faux snow around the base of the tree for a snowy forest-floor effect—but do keep in mind, this isn’t the best option if you have small children or curious pets. Safety first!
Start Early: White-themed decorations are widely available, especially as the season approaches. Start collecting now for the best selection and to spread out the cost.
