West Virginians on Alert After Possible Measles Exposure

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The West Virginia Department of Health’s Bureau for Public Health confirmed a case of measles traveled through the Washington Dulles International Airport while infectious.

The confirmed case was an international traveler visiting North Carolina, and traveled through the airport on Thursday, June 19.

According to the post, officials believe West Virginia residents may have been exposed if they were at any of the following locations:

  • Concourse A
  • On transportation to the International Arrivals Building, and the baggage claim area between 7:45 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.
  • The departures area of the main terminal
  • East Security Checkpoint
  • On transportation to or inside Concourse C between 8:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Thursday

Anyone exposed would be expected to develop symptoms between June 26 and July 10.
