“We Roam Freely Because They Stand Guard”: Pilgrims Praise Amarnath Yatra Security

Pilgrims Express Gratitude for Security and Arrangements During Amarnath Yatra

Pilgrims participating in the annual Amarnath Yatra have voiced their appreciation for the robust security measures and overall logistical arrangements along the Pahalgam route. Many have highlighted that they feel secure and well-supported during their spiritual journey to the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji cave.

Siddharth Agrawal, a first-time pilgrim, praised the efforts of the security personnel. He remarked, “This is my first time here. We initially thought that the number of devotees would be lower due to recent events. But that hasn’t been the case. The armed forces are working tirelessly for us. Without their presence, I don’t think we would have had the courage to come here. We are moving freely because they are standing guard with their weapons. I salute the CRPF and the J&K Police.”

Nilesh Upadhyay, who is on his 13th Amarnath Yatra, also shared similar sentiments. He said, “The arrangements are excellent. There is a sense of peace here.”

Government Highlights Increased Pilgrim Turnout

Union Minister Jitendra Singh recently noted that around 26,000 to 27,000 pilgrims have visited the Amarnath Yatra since it began on July 2. This figure has helped dispel concerns that the enthusiasm of devotees might wane following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Singh attributed this positive turnout to the government’s effective measures and the public’s trust in the leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated, “So far, 26,000 to 27,000 pilgrims have visited the Amarnath Yatra. The misconception that the enthusiasm of pilgrims would decrease after the Pahalgam terrorist attack has been completely dispelled. People have such confidence that with Prime Minister Modi at the helm, there will be no lapses in security.”

He added, “People from all walks of life, both within the country and abroad, are coming for the Amarnath Yatra. This is a clear sign of the government’s success.”

Enhanced Security Measures Across Jammu and Kashmir

Security has been significantly bolstered across Jammu and Kashmir as the annual pilgrimage continues through the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. Authorities have taken multiple steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims.

The Jammu-Srinagar Highway remains a crucial route for thousands of devotees heading toward the holy site. In preparation for the 38-day pilgrimage, authorities have established 17 medical camps at langar sites, set up mini hospitals, and deployed ambulances across the Ramban district. These measures were implemented weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives due to religious profiling.

A Testimony of Confidence and Resilience

The continued participation of pilgrims, despite past challenges, reflects a deep sense of faith and trust in the government’s ability to protect them. The Amarnath Yatra is not just a religious journey but also a symbol of resilience and unity among devotees.

As the pilgrimage progresses, the focus remains on ensuring that every pilgrim has a safe and meaningful experience. The combination of strong security, efficient logistics, and community support has made this year’s yatra a testament to the dedication of both the authorities and the people.

With each step taken along the Pahalgam route, pilgrims reaffirm their commitment to their spiritual beliefs, while also expressing gratitude for the efforts that go into making their journey possible.
