The City of Pana notified residents of the boil order late Sunday morning. It impacts Pana water customers in the following areas:
- W. 3rd St. from S. State to Grant
- S. Clark St. from W. 2nd to W. 3rd
- Wells St. from W. 2nd to W. 4th
- S. Sheridan St. from W. 3rd to W. 5th
- S. Sherman St. from W. 3rd to W. 7th
- S. Grant St. from W 3rd to W. 7th
The city said the boil order is due to a water main break at the intersection of West 3rd Street and South Sheridan Street.
Earlier in the day, the Pana Police Department said a water leak was located on the west side of town, which may have impacted service for some residents. The police department added that the street department had been notified, and that repairs were underway.

As a precaution, those living around the impacted areas are urged to boil all tap water used for drinking or cooking until the boil order is lifted. Water should be brought to a “rolling” boil for five minutes and then cooled before use.
