Wajackoyah Earns PhD from Top US University

A New Chapter for George Wajackoyah: Earning a PhD in Law and Public Policy

George Wajackoyah, the leader of the Roots Party and a former presidential candidate, has successfully earned a Ph.D. in Law and Public Policy from Walden University in Orlando, Florida, United States. This achievement marks the culmination of six years of rigorous academic study, which he completed recently on Saturday.

Wajackoyah expressed his excitement about the milestone, highlighting that his thesis has been published in the Library of Congress. “Tomorrow is D-Day. 6 years of hard work. Tuko Orange Convention Center, Orlando, Florida. PhD Law & Public Policy. The work is listed in the Library of Congress for future research in law and scholarly writings,” he shared on Friday.

The validation of his thesis by the Library of Congress is seen as a significant accomplishment. Wajackoyah emphasized that this recognition allows Congressional lawmakers to reference his work as a source of law when drafting immigration policies. He noted that the doctoral thesis took him six years to complete, with challenges posed by the global pandemic during the process.

Before entering the political arena, Wajackoyah first attempted to run for president in 2012 but withdrew from the race. However, in 2022, he was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to contest for Kenya’s highest office, ultimately finishing third in the election.

His campaign in 2022 captured widespread public attention, largely due to the controversial proposals outlined in his party’s manifesto. These included suggestions such as reducing the working week to four days and legalizing bhang. Alongside these ideas, Wajackoyah’s distinctive dress code and Rastafarian style made him a prominent figure in the media and among the general public.

Despite the controversies, Wajackoyah remains committed to his political aspirations. He has declared his intention to run for president again in 2027. In the 2022 elections, he received 61,969 votes, securing the third position.

Wajackoyah’s journey reflects not only his dedication to academic excellence but also his determination to challenge conventional norms in both policy and public life. His achievements serve as a testament to his resilience and vision for the future. As he prepares for the next chapter, his story continues to inspire and provoke discussion across various sectors of society.
