According to a special report aired by a news channel, sacrificial animals with beautiful names like Dhani, Bablu, Gulabo are in high demand this Eid-ul-Azha, with buyers willing to pay premium prices for these prized animals.

According to sellers, these unique names are adding to the animals’ charm and value, driving up demand and prices in the market.

Sellers from major cities like Peshawar, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Karachi claim they feed and care for their animals throughout the year, ensuring they are in top condition for the festive season, which is driving up demand and prices in the market.

‘We take great pride in our animals’ health and well-being,’ said a seller from Peshawar Ring Road adding he said that our year-round care and attention can be reflected in their impressive physiques and high prices.’

Another seller from Multan added, ‘Buyers are willing to pay more for animals that are well-fed and well-groomed, making our hard work worthwhile.’ As I walked through the cattle market, I noticed a strong bull catching everyone’s attention. ‘I am impressed by Rocky the bull’s strength,’ one buyer exclaimed. Nearby, a young calf was stealing the show.

A trader noted, ‘All kinds of animals, including prized cows, champion bulls, majestic camels, agile goats and adorable lambs, are becoming part of cattle markets across the country, proving equally important for the upcoming Islamic festival, with many being showcased in competitions for their exceptional breed, strength and beauty.’

Families and youngsters alike are reveling in the festive atmosphere of the cattle market, where they have grown attached to the animals, even giving them endearing names, as they prepare for the upcoming celebrations.

Another customer observed, ‘to draw in more buyers, the sacrificial animals are looking their absolute best, adorned with vibrant garlands, shiny sterling bands, intricate embellished belts and majestic crowns.’ Cattle traders are getting creative, posting pictures of their animals: like 500-kilo champion bull, Max, or 300-kilo gentle cow, Nida and adorable 50-kilo lamb, Ali on social media, allowing customers to browse and book their sacrificial animals online. The owner said, ‘I give my cows good food like hay and grains. This keeps them healthy and strong.’
