Ukraine is now in a position to step up pressure on Russia, as it has acquired weapons capable of destroying key infrastructure critical to Russian military logistics.
During the war, Ukrainian forces have already targeted the Kerch Bridge, a vital structure connecting annexed Crimea to mainland Russia. After the bridge was damaged, security in the area was significantly reinforced, and no further Ukrainian attacks have been reported since.
Last week, Germany and Ukraine signed a military partnership that will enable the joint production of long-range missiles capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory.

, said that destroying the bridge would give Kyiv a significant strategic advantage.
He said: “
The bridge still holds huge symbolic and political significance to both sides, as the physical embodiment of Russia’s ongoing attempts to illegally integrate Crimea into its own country and as a de facto litmus test for how Putin’s ‘special military operation’ is going
.”
The expert also pointed out that Russia would be forced to divert air defense systems to protect the bridge at all costs.
“
Equally, the burden of defending the bridge from air, missile or drone attack ties up Russian air defence systems and other forces that could otherwise be deployed elsewhere on the frontline or to secure vulnerable logistical hubs and military or industrial sites in Russia itself,
” he added.
