Trump Considers Pardoning Diddy: “I Would Look Into It”

Is willing to consider granting a pardon to rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs—but acknowledged not being thoroughly familiar with the case when questioned by journalists, according to The Daily Beast.

Diddy is facing
federal accusations of organized crime and human trafficking for sexual purposes
, following decades of rumors of illicit activity surrounding him. Prosecutors have shown damning evidence to jurors, including a video that appears to show him viciously beating his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who alleges he used blackmail and violence to force her to participate in drugged-up orgies.

If found guilty of these charges, which he refutes, he could potentially face a lifetime imprisonment.

Although Trump isn’t against the concept, he doesn’t fully endorse it, stating to Fox News’ Peter Dooley, “First off, I would examine what’s going on. Plus, I haven’t really been following it closely.”

Trump notoriously granted nearly 1,600 pardons to individuals linked to the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol. Following this, he has issued several dozen additional pardons.
One out of every five of those pardons
were intended for different individuals who either donated funds to his campaign, supported him for office, or have collaborated with his administration on policy initiatives.

Several of the most recently granted pardons were issued to
Julie and Todd Chrisley
, ex-reality TV personalities found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion, along with Scott Jenkins, a Virginia sheriff who handed out deputy badges to individuals who bribed him.
