Joint Security Operations in Katsina State Successfully Neutralize 30 Armed Bandits
Security forces in Katsina State have successfully neutralized 30 armed bandits during a series of coordinated counter-operations in the Faskari Local Government Area. The operation took place on July 8, 2025, when hundreds of heavily armed bandits launched simultaneous attacks on the communities of Kadisau, Raudama, and Sabon Layi. The assault occurred around 5:00 pm, prompting an immediate response from security personnel.

The security forces involved included operatives from the Police Mobile Force, military personnel, and components of the Nigerian Air Force. According to a statement released by Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, intelligence about the attacks led to the swift mobilization of security forces. Additional reinforcements were deployed from Dandume and the Nigerian Air Force to support the operations.
After intense confrontations, the security forces managed to repel the attackers and force them into retreat. During the operation, 30 criminals were neutralized through coordinated air strikes as they attempted to escape. While the success of the mission is being celebrated, the loss of several brave personnel has been deeply felt.
Loss of Brave Personnel
Three dedicated members of the Police Mobile Force lost their lives in the operation. They include Inspector Suleiman Ibrahim, Inspector Bello Bala, and Corporal Mohammed Lawal. Additionally, a civilian, Aliyu Sa’adu from Kadisau village, was also killed. In Sabon Layi, two soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice, while Ya’u Aliyu sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Dr. Mu’azu expressed deep condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and the affected communities. He emphasized that the government and the people of Katsina State will not forget the sacrifices made by these individuals. The families of the deceased will receive full government support during this difficult time.
