Travis Scott to Return to Abu Dhabi with Record-Breaking Circus Maximus World Tour
Travis Scott, a globally recognized rapper, is making a return to Abu Dhabi as part of his highly successful Circus Maximus World Tour. The event is scheduled to take place at Etihad Park on Yas Island on November 15, marking another significant moment in the city’s growing list of major music events.
Scott has previously performed in Abu Dhabi in 2016 and again in 2023, showing his continued connection with the region. His latest tour, the Circus Maximus, launched in 2023 to support his fourth studio album Utopia, has already made history by becoming the highest-grossing solo rap tour of all time. To date, it has generated over $209.3 million and attracted an audience of 1.7 million people worldwide.
The Abu Dhabi stop is part of a limited global run that includes six countries, alongside the UAE. These include India (Delhi and Mumbai), Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), China (Sanya), and South Africa (Johannesburg). The tour originally started in October 2023 and has featured 78 sold-out shows across North America, Europe, the UK, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. However, one planned performance at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt was canceled due to “complex production issues” in 2023. The tour also included a stop in Qatar in May.
This tour marks Scott’s first major world tour in six years since the conclusion of his Astroworld – Wish You Were Here Tour in 2019. Known for its unique visual style, the Circus Maximus World Tour is designed to resemble a haunted theme park, complete with flying heads and explosive pyrotechnics. The setlist features hits from his Utopia album, such as Hyaena, Sirens, and Fe!n, along with fan favorites like Sicko Mode and Butterfly Effect.
As a multiple Grammy-nominated artist, Scott has established himself as a pop culture icon. His collaborations with fashion brands and shoe designers often sell out within minutes, with resellers later offering them for thousands of dollars. In addition, he founded his own record label, Cactus Jack Records, in 2017.
The Utopia album was one of the most successful hip-hop releases of 2023, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart for four consecutive weeks. It has also accumulated more than 50 billion streams globally, showcasing its widespread appeal.
For fans eager to attend the Abu Dhabi show, pre-sale registration for the Circus Maximus World Tour will be available on Live Nation Middle East’s website starting Thursday, July 17 at noon. General ticket sales will open the following day, on Friday, July 18 at noon. This is a highly anticipated event, and tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
