Training Update: Hiroki Itō Back on the Pitch with Bayern Munich

Bayern MunichDefender Hiroki Itō has experienced a challenging journey in Bavaria up until now, but the 26-year-old may be seeing signs of improvement.

Having missed nearly the whole season due to a metatarsal injury, Itō is now back training at Säbener Straße, according to MagentaTV reporter Victor Catalina:

Hiroki Itō has started running practice on the field again for the first time since he suffered a metatarsal fracture.

Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) added more context:

Hiroki Itō has started his running exercises today. Following three metatarsal fractures, the defender will gradually return to activity with no rush. Medical staff on the team will keep track of how Itō’s foot responds to the rising level of physical demands. Within the club, there is discussion about October as a potential date for his return.

Bayern Munich would certainly benefit from a fully fit Itō playing in both center-back and left-back positions this season.

As the transfer for Hugo Ekitiké nears completion, it’s clear that Bayern Munich is expected to secure Luis Diaz—regardless of fan opinions. Bayern Munich has reportedly withdrawn from negotiations with VfB Stuttgart to concentrate on acquiring Diaz. It could also be the right moment for Bayern Munich to move forward and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Additionally, there’s a comment from Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO regarding Bayern Munich. You can find all this and more in the latest episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show!
