Top Chef Heads South for Season 23
Top Chef is set to take its next exciting turn in the southern United States. The upcoming season, which will be the show’s 23rd, will feature Charlotte, North Carolina, as its primary location. Several episodes will also be filmed in Greenville, South Carolina. This marks a new chapter for the culinary competition, as it continues to explore different regions across the country.
Bravo recently announced this news through a press release that highlighted Charlotte as an “emerging and diverse culinary hub.” The release emphasized that this season will showcase the best of southern hospitality, drawing on the area’s rich history, agricultural resources, and natural beauty. Chefs competing in the season will have access to the freshest local ingredients, which will play a key role in the Quickfire and Elimination Challenges.
The returning judges, Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio, along with host Kristen Kish, will be back for the new season. Production is set to begin this summer, with the season expected to premiere in 2026. Kish shared her excitement about the new setting, saying that when the show moves to a new city, it becomes the backdrop for the entire season. For Gail Simmons, who is originally from Toronto, the Canadian season was a special experience.
