When the police arrived, they discovered a red Chevrolet truck and a black minivan in the eastbound traffic lanes. A third vehicle, a gray Ford pickup, had collided with a house nearby.

Captain Jason Haase stated that the Chevrolet and Ford pickup trucks were heading west on 2nd Street and were driving carelessly when they crashed into each other. The collision caused the Ford to swerve off the road and strike the house, while the Chevrolet moved forward and collided head-on with the minivan in the eastbound lanes.

The police stated that Jelena Bozic Skinner from Hastings, who was driving the minivan, and her son suffered serious injuries. Skinner has remained in a coma due to severe head trauma since the incident.

A GoFundMe page has been designed to assist the family.

Haase mentioned that authorities initially thought only two minors were involved, but video evidence later showed a third teenager in a different car ahead of the others.

Speed played a role in the accident, Haase stated.

Stroot, Shafer, and Graf are set to be present in Adams County Court on Friday.

The highest possible sentence for being found guilty of second-degree assault is 20 years behind bars.
