The Offspring honoredOzzy OsbourneDuring Tuesday night’s Syracuse concert, several hours after the announcement of Black Sabbath’s singer’s passing, Osbourne, a key figure in heavy metal and a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, passed away at the age of 76.
A punk rock band, fronted by singer-guitarist Dexter Holland and lead guitarist Noodles, performed short portions of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” and Osbourne’s solo song “Crazy Train.” Holland did not offer any vocal parts, allowing the music to convey the message for both instrumental renditions.
