In San Antonio, the name
Taqueria Datapoint
is synonymous with easy, casual dining and classic Mexican bites, like mini tacos de asada and breakfast tacos, at its five locations across the city. An upcoming restaurant and bar concept headed to the outskirts of San Antonio bears the Datapoint moniker, pointing to a possible connection with the local favorite.
A project details page on the
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
website lists Datapoint Grill and Cantina in its database of upcoming construction projects. The page reveals that the new business will be situated off Highway 281 near the Bulverde Road intersection. It will be a new construction that is set to start September 1, meaning that it will be built from the ground up to the tune of $640,000, according to TDLR. The listed completion date is January 1, 2026.
reached out to a number listed on the filing to confirm if Datapoint Grill and Cantina is indeed a part of the Taqueria Datapoint family of restaurants, but we did not receive a response by the time of publication. We also contacted the local chain by email and through social media.
“Yes, it’s the same branch,” the taqueria confirmed in a message exchange on Facebook.
While Taqueria Datapoint remains hush-hush on further details, will continue to keep an eye out for Datapoint Grill and Cantina’s development as more info becomes available.
