Local authorities reported that two surfers saw the couple fighting in the turbulent waters. One used his board to lift Warner’s daughter above the water, while another volunteer lifeguard and surfer helped bring Warner and another swimmer to the beach.
The child, whose name has not been disclosed, was not injured and has returned to her mother. Eyewitnesses reported that she held onto the board while the surfer rowed her to safety, just a short time before the weather deteriorated.
