ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. (WAFB) – Summer meals are being provided to students in the Assumption Parish School System.
Officials said the school system is participating in the Louisiana Department of Education’s Seamless Summer Food Program. As a result, all students in grades 3-12 can receive free meals on a first-come, first-served basis.
If a student participates in the program, he or she must eat the meals at a school campus.
The meals will be provided Monday through Thursday on the following dates and times and at the following locations:
- Assumption High School – May 27 to June 26 for 9th to 12th graders, with breakfast served from 7:20 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:45 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.
- Napoleonville Middle School – June 2 to June 26 for 6th to 8th graders, with breakfast served from 7:40 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and lunch from 10:55 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.
- Napoleonville Primary School – June 2 to June 26 for 3rd to 8th graders, with breakfast served from 8 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and lunch from 10:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Parents will need to send a notification to the Assumption Parish School System’s nutrition office at least one day before a child plans to eat breakfast or lunch at one of the schools.
