Coventry Building Society Arena Seeks New Talent for Upcoming Summer Events

As the summer events season approaches, the Coventry Building Society Arena is actively seeking to recruit new colleagues across several areas of its events team. The venue is looking for individuals with varying levels of experience to fill roles in both the arena and hospitality departments.

The available positions span a range of responsibilities, including hospitality managers, hospitality supervisors, venue security officers, IT managers, and more. All roles are based in Coventry and come with benefits such as free onsite parking and discounted food and drink from on-site retail outlets.

Currently, there are five roles available at CBS Arena, which include a mix of permanent, casual, and fixed-term positions. Below is an overview of each role and the requirements for applicants.

Venue Security Officer

A Venue Security Officer will be part of a larger operations team, working to ensure the safety and security of all staff, contractors, clients, visitors, members of the public, and other stakeholders associated with the venue. This full-time role involves checking on working practices and crime prevention, advising accordingly, maintaining the security of the venue, dealing with emergencies, and responding to calls for assistance across the premises.

Applicants must enjoy working with colleagues, clients, and contractors, have excellent communication skills, and be able to handle sensitive situations confidentially. Previous security experience of at least two years is required, along with the ability to write and deliver reports.

IT Manager

The IT Manager will be responsible for the performance and security of core business systems, including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, ERP, and EPOS. They will also manage the IT helpdesk function for on-site and remote users. This full-time role is described as a ‘hands-on’ leadership position for someone with strong technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Applicants should hold a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, and industry certification is strongly preferred.

Match Day Deputy Safety Officer

The Match Day Deputy Safety Officer will assist the Safety Officer in ensuring the safety of everyone attending events at CBS Arena. This part-time, fixed-seasonal role involves supporting the delivery and development of the safety strategy, managing and overseeing the steward agency, developing relationships with local authorities, and promoting a performance-focused culture.

Candidates must have experience working within a football safety and security environment, understand crowd safety management, have a proven track record as a team leader, and be experienced in cultivating consistent best practice behaviour.

Event Day Hospitality Supervisors

Hospitality Supervisors are responsible for providing guests with an excellent customer experience by serving a variety of food and drinks in the venue’s in-house concessions outlets. This casual role offers a starting pay rate of £13.35 per hour.

Applicants should be hard-working, self-motivated, have knowledge of food safety laws, be a team player who can work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.

Event Day Hospitality Managers

Hospitality Managers play a key role in ensuring that guests receive an exceptional customer experience through food and beverage service. This casual position starts at £15 per hour and involves leading and motivating the hospitality team, overseeing food and beverage service, managing stock control, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Candidates must have previous managerial experience in hospitality, strong leadership and communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, a Level 2 Food Hygiene certification, and knowledge of food and beverage operations.
