Mysterious Encounter Captured on Camera: A Possible Alien Sighting in Compton

A strange and unsettling incident was recorded by a woman’s doorbell camera, capturing what appeared to be an extraterrestrial being walking through her backyard. The footage, shared on social media, has sparked widespread curiosity and debate among viewers.

Jessica Ortiz, a resident of Compton, California, posted the video on her Instagram account, showing a peculiar creature moving through her driveway and exiting through a back gate. The short, blue alien had an elongated head, a tiny neck that seemed to emerge from its chest, and a protruding backbone. As the creature disappears from view, the sound of Ortiz’s gate slamming shut can be heard, marking the end of the encounter.

The incident occurred around 1am Pacific Time, and Ortiz noted that only the front door camera captured the footage, despite having motion-activated cameras throughout her home. “That’s why we know for sure it’s not a person because there’s only one way in and one way out,” she explained during an interview with the YouTube channel The Hidden Underbelly 2.0.

The situation became even more intriguing when Ortiz’s aunt, who lives next door, reported hearing unusual noises on her roof just 30 minutes before the footage was captured. This added to the mystery surrounding the event.

Ortiz also mentioned that the other cameras didn’t detect the creature, as the video showed it seemingly appearing out of nowhere right before passing by the front door. She recounted how the encounter began when she received an alert on her Ring doorbell app. “I asked my son to look at the video. I brought the phone and I was like, ‘Hey, double check this for me, what am I seeing?’” she said. Her son watched the video multiple times and insisted, “Mom, it’s an alien, call the cops.”

Despite her son’s suggestion and her own concerns about what might be lurking in their neighborhood, Ortiz never called the police. “It was scary. At that moment, I was like, what do I do?” she reflected. “I was like, ‘We’re going to sound crazy calling the police saying there’s an alien in the backyard.’”

While Ortiz did not definitively label the creature as an alien, she expressed belief in the possibility of other living beings in the universe. The host of The Hidden Underbelly podcast, who remained unnamed, speculated that the entity was indeed an alien and belonged to a race known to UFO researchers as “the Greys.” He described two distinct types of Greys—tall and short—with the latter fitting the description of the small creature seen in the footage.

The host pointed out that the timing of the encounter made it unlikely that a child would be wandering the streets at 1am. “Look at its head, it’s a very weird shape,” he said. “And the color, this is looking like a blue-grey creature, of the typical Greys.” He also considered the possibility that the figure could be someone in a costume but noted that it would have to be a very small person.

In October 2023, Ring, an Amazon-owned company, launched a contest offering a $1 million prize to any U.S. resident who provided unaltered scientific evidence of real extraterrestrial life. The initiative followed an influx of videos claiming to show alien activity online, though most were later identified as meteors or other natural phenomena. No one won the contest, and Ortiz was asked if she would submit her footage if the competition was still open. She confirmed that her video was unedited and expressed interest in participating if the opportunity arose.
