how close the new neighbors are.

As Tom and
Jason Caperna
helped Jax pack up some of his belongings at the home he previously shared with
Brittany Cartwright
, Jason revealed that Jax and Tom would now share a wall. With that in mind, he wanted to know, “[Do] your bedrooms touch?”

With a laugh, Tom clarified that they do not.

Jax and Tom then headed over to their townhouses, which Tom referred to as “Jax’s hassle castle and Schwartz’s sanctuary,” to get Jax settled in.

Spacious and airy with a cozy feel, Jax’s new space boasts a white and tan color scheme with black decor details. The apartment includes a bedroom for himself and
one for son Cruz
that includes his own bathroom and “a walk-in closet.” Cruz also has a spacious playroom.

As Tom saw Cruz’s setup, he declared, “That’s as big as our first apartment.”

While they checked out Jax’s bedroom, which was filled with items that needed to be organized at the time, Tom stated, “This stresses me out.” Jax agreed, explaining, “I’ve gotta work on this today.”

Although the episode didn’t show the inside of Tom’s home, viewers did get a glimpse at his terrace, which directly connects to Jax’s.

“You can’t cross that boundary without my permission,” Tom warned Jax, to which he replied, “No, I’m taking that [glass] down.”

Jax Taylor opens up about living next to Tom Schwartz

In an episode interview, Jax opened up about the significance of moving next door to Tom. “I just got out of rehab, I’m trying to rebuild myself. I need somebody there to talk to, to lean on,” he said. “And I can’t think of a better person, other than Tom Schwartz to do that. I mean, he’s my best friend.”

Later, Jax opened up about living on his own after a decade.

“It’s been 10 years since I’ve lived by myself,” said Jax, who admitted that he was “excited [and] nervous” for the next phase of his life

, Tom hoped to grow Jax’s plant collection when he dropped by with a housewarming gift. “This is a white orchid,” he announced. “It’s symbolic of new beginnings and some other s–t that I don’t know.”
