After a long wait, Paramount+ provided an initial glimpse of season one of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” on Saturday during the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).

“You’re the first academy class to come back to our camps in San Francisco — more than 120 years later,” says Holly Hunter, the chancellor of Starfleet Academy, to a group of new students assembled at the James T. Kirk Pavilion.

Several of you have come for your families,” she adds, “while others are here for personal reasons. As a group, you represent the top minds from all over the galaxy.

The students will be encouraged “to offer more of yourselves than you realize you possess,” Hunter adds, “to dream without boundaries. Any obstacles that occurred before today have brought you to this point. You are here now, and you are shaping the future.”

“So venture out, discover, and courageously go where no one has ventured before,” she concludes.

The series was orderedIn March 2023. The official logline is as follows: “Under the strict and watchful supervision of their instructors, they will learn the requirements to become Starfleet officers while dealing with growing friendships, intense rivalries, first loves, and a new enemy that endangers both the Academy and the Federation.”
