The city of Waterbury currently has more than a dozen splash pads open daily for kids to cool off at.
With the next few days
projected to be extremely hot
, kids like Zane Thompson are making sure they are staying active but cool at the same time.
“It was a really warm day and I was bugging my mom to come over here so that we could have fun again at the water park,” Zane said.

Zane’s cousin Jaavon couldn’t agree more. He said the cold water at the splash pad provides instant relief when it’s hot.
Angela Stich brought her great-grand babies out to the splash pad in Waterbury and took total advantage of the cold water.
“It’s awesome for the kids to come play in the water and it’s free,” she said.
