On May 30, Pakistani actress Sonia Hussain shared unsettling experiences from the set of her forthcoming horror movie, Deemak. She mentioned encountering inexplicable noises and unexpected power outages while shooting. During a promotion event, she reflected that feelings of terror and dread often stem from personal convictions and perspectives.
Sonia, who is presently engaged in promoting Deemak, revealed to All Pakistani Drama Page in a recent conversation that the movie draws inspiration from actual events. She mentioned that although significant paranormal activities did not occur during filming, unusual happenings like unexpected power outages and fluctuating lighting contributed an enigmatic atmosphere to the set.
The actress firmly believes in the existence of jinns, asserting that because they are referenced in the Holy Quran, their reality cannot be dismissed. She further noted that discussing jinns might attract them, an experience she and her crew had while shooting.
Sonia mentioned that the team occasionally heard mysterious noises, such as things being moved, despite nobody being nearby. These inexplicable sounds created an unsettling environment on set, leading to numerous retakes because of unexpected technical issues that did not occur at other locations.
Deemak is scheduled for release during Eid ul Azha and boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring prominent actors such as Faisal Quraishi and Samina Peerzada in pivotal parts. In addition to acting in the movie, Sonia will be stepping into production, marking her first venture as a producer and demonstrating her versatility both in front of and behind the camera.
The teaser for Deemak hints at a grim and thrilling plot focusing on Faisal Quraishi, who portrays an on-screen husband to Sonia Hussain, alongside his character’s mother portrayed by Samina Peerzada. Additional scenes featuring veteran performers such as Bushra Ansari and Javed Sheikh indicate a strong collective acting effort.
