Shakira has canceled her scheduled performance in Washington D.C., following complications from her previously rescheduled show in Boston, which was also cancelled.
The renowned Colombian pop singer was scheduled to perform on Saturday as part of WorldPride, which is among the biggest LGBTQ+ celebrations globally.
The baseball stadium hosting the event, Nationals Park, stated in an issued announcement that “issues arising from the prior show in Boston” resulted in “Shakira’s complete tour setup unable to reach Washington, D.C.” in time for the scheduled performance.

The artist from “Wherever, Whenever” expressed her devastation over the fact that the performances in Boston and Washington D.C. were simply unfeasible on this occasion.

National Stadium announced that “in spite of all efforts,” it wasn’t feasible for the concert to proceed as scheduled. The location assured automatic refunds for ticket buyers.
The prior show at Boston’s Fenway Park was called off just moments before Shakira was scheduled to perform on May 29th. Additionally, the concerts featuring country artists Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn on May 30th were also canceled.
As reported by CBS News, which is affiliated with the U.S., the concerts in Boston were canceled due to a concern regarding the stability of the stage.
The entertainment firm Live Nation stated that “structural components were found to be below standards, and these concerns came to light during a regular pre-concert inspection.”
In response to the cancellation of the show in Washington DC on social media, numerous fans commented that they had traveled to the city expressly to see the event.
