Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Central Pennsylvania on Alert | Weather Impact Warning

The FOX43 Weather Impact Team has issued a

Weather Impact Alert until midnight Tuesday

for the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms Monday evening. A

Severe Thunderstorm Watch

has been issued for

Mifflin and Juniata counties until midnight Tuesday.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to continued Monday evening, especially west of Harrisburg. Storms could produce isolated damaging winds gusts and torrential downpours that could lead to some areas of flooding. A very weak and very brief tornado can’t be entirely ruled out either, but that risk eases with every second that passes.

Areas west of Harrisburg is highlighted in a Level 2 out of 5 threat

for strong to severe thunderstorms.

Areas along and east of Harrisburg are in a Level 1 out of 5 risk.

Secure any loose outdoor objects. Spotty power outages are possible, along with the potential for broken tree branches and limbs. Be weather aware and have a way to receive severe weather alerts.
