Serial Butt-Sniffer Re-arrested in Burbank

A man who has faced numerous arrests for grabbing women’s buttocks in public was taken into custody again this week for the same offense.

Calese Carron Crowder, 38, was taken into custody on Tuesday by Burbank Police Department officers at the Walmart situated in the Empire Center shopping complex on Victory Place.

Law enforcement initially went to the adjacent Nordstrom Rack within the same mall after receiving a report about a man acting suspiciously in the women’s section.

When police arrived at the location, they were told that the suspect had already departed the department store, but he was found a short time later at the Walmart situated across the parking lot.

Law enforcement utilized the store’s surveillance system to track the individual as he wandered through different sections of the store, and then witnessed him following a female shopper into the women’s area. Officers saw the man crouch behind the woman and engage in “indecent behavior by improperly sniffing her lower back.”

Law enforcement officers encountered the individual and ultimately took him into custody. It was subsequently discovered that he was Calese Crowder, a resident of Glendale and a registered sex offender.

Crowder is currently under active parole and has a recorded history of comparable arrests for analogous offenses.

He gained national attention in August 2023 after performing the same action against a woman at a Barnes & Noble location in Burbank, which was recorded on video and resulted in aviral TikTok post. He was also recognized as the suspect in multiple burglary incidents and wasarrested that same monthamid claims that he was looking into the home of a family in Glendale.

He was ultimately released from detention regarding those offenses because of a prison overpopulation problem, butwas re-arrestedafter he was unable to register with the local police.

Michaela Witter, the individual who shared the initial viral TikTok video, mentioned that many women came forward to share their own encounters with the same person.

The spouse of former Los Angeles Lakers player Robert Horry also accused Calese ofstalking their teenage daughtermore than ten years earlier. “He needs to be locked up for good,” Candice Horry stated on social media.

Crowder has a long history of criminal activity, with prior convictions for burglary, theft, and public indecency. He was also believed to be involved in other trespassing offenses in Glendale.

He is currently being held by the police while awaiting formal charges related to loitering with the intention of committing an offense. His bond has been set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 1st.

Authorities think there could be more victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with details is encouraged to reach out to the Burbank PD Investigations Division at 818-238-3210. Confidential reports can be made throughprovided online or by calling 800-222-8477.
