A 20-year-old individual riding an electric scooter suffered severe injuries after being involved in a collision between two vehicles in North Bellport, according to a statement from Suffolk County Police on Thursday, July 24.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on Macdonald Avenue when he collided with a 2015 Kia Optima at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue at approximately 3:14 p.m., according to police. Following the first impact, the motorcycle hit a 2015 Hyundai Accent that was moving east on Atlantic Avenue, as investigators reported.
The individual was transported by air to Stony Brook University Hospital with critical injuries. His identity will not be released until his family has been informed.

Cheryl Butler, 63, from East Patchogue, was the driver of the Kia and suffered no injuries. Ever Parada Acevedo, 40, from Central Islip, who was driving the Hyundai, along with the vehicle’s passenger, also remained unharmed.
All vehicles involved and the electric scooter were taken into custody for safety inspections, officials noted.
