SEOUL, June 12 (Yonhap) — Scarlett Johansson, along with co-stars Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and director Gareth Edwards, will visit Korea on July 1 to promote the Hollywood film “Jurassic World: New Era”, distributor Universal Pictures announced on Thursday.
In a YouTube video, Johansson said, “I’m going to Korea as part of the global tour for ‘Jurassic World’ because I really want to meet my amazing Korean fans. Let’s meet on July 1 in Korea.”
Johansson, well known to Korean audiences for her role as the Marvel superhero Black Widow, first visited Korea in 2017 for the promotion of the film “Ghost in the Shell.” This will be her second visit, eight years after the first.
“Jurassic World: New Era”, the fourth installment in the “Jurassic World” series, follows a special operations expert named Zora (played by Scarlett Johansson) and a paleontologist named Henry (played by Jonathan Bailey) as they enter the world’s most dangerous island—home to a secret lab from Jurassic Park. There, they uncover shocking truths and face threats from dinosaurs.
The film is directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on monster and sci-fi films like “Godzilla” (2014), “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016), and “The Creator” (2023).
