Overview of Combat Engagements on July 8
On July 8, there were a total of 148 combat engagements along the front line. The most intense fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These areas saw a significant number of attacks from Russian forces.
Russian Military Activities
Since the start of the day, Russian forces have carried out two missile strikes and 52 airstrikes. They used six missiles and dropped 77 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 1,113 kamikaze drones and launched 4,126 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas. These figures highlight the intensity of the ongoing conflict and the scale of military operations being conducted by Russian forces.
Frontline Situation
Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk Direction
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk direction, there were 13 combat engagements with Russian forces. The enemy conducted seven airstrikes, dropping 13 guided bombs, and carried out 260 attacks, including five using multiple launch rocket systems.
Southern-Slobozhanskyi Direction
Today, the enemy launched 10 attacks in the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, specifically in the areas of Vovchansk, Ambarne, and Kamianka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
Kupiansk Direction
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the areas of Zahryzove and Holubivka.
Lyman Direction
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 assaults in the areas of Novyi Myr, Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, Ridkodub, Hryhorivka, and in the direction of Shandryholove. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
Siversk Direction
The enemy launched four attacks in the Siversk direction, targeting the areas of Ivano-Darivka and the directions of Serebrianka and Vyiimka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
Kramatorsk Direction
Since the beginning of the day in the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked toward Stupochky and Bila Hora. Ukrainian units successfully repelled all three attacks.
Toretsk Direction
There were nine combat engagements in the Toretsk direction today. The enemy attempted to assault the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Diliivka, Toretsk, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and in the directions of Katerynivka and Oleksandro-Kalyneve.
Pokrovsk Direction
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 51 attacks in various settlements, including Popiv Yar, Poltavka, Myrne, Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Razine, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Zvirove, Udachne, Muravka, Oleksiivka, Zelenyi Kut, Orikhove, and in the directions of Pokrovsk, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Six combat engagements are still ongoing.
According to preliminary data, 177 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction today, with 118 of them considered irrecoverable losses. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one armored personnel carrier, a vehicle, 13 pieces of motorized equipment, a gun, 11 UAVs, two dug-in electronic warfare systems, and one UAV control antenna. Additionally, a vehicle, five enemy guns, and a mortar were struck.
Novopavlivka Direction
Ukrainian defenders repelled 26 enemy attacks in the Novopavlivka direction, covering areas such as Zaporizhzhia, Piddubne, Myrne, Komar, Voskresenka, Shevchenko, Zelene Pole, Vilne Pole, and Novopil. Eight combat engagements are still ongoing.
Huliaipole and Orikhiv Directions
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces are repelling one enemy assault near Malynivka. In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Plavni but did not conduct any offensive actions.
Prydniprovskyi Direction
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attempted once to approach Ukrainian defensive positions. They also conducted airstrikes on the areas of Mykolaivka and Lvove.
Russian Losses in the War
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,028,610 military personnel. Over the past day alone, the Russian army suffered 1,070 personnel losses. In addition, Ukrainian fighters destroyed 4 armored combat vehicles, 41 artillery systems, 2 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 172 drones, and other enemy equipment.
