New geolocated footage released on July 18 reveals that Russian forces have made recent advances northeast of the city of Sumy. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), these movements indicate a continued push by Russian troops in the region. The attacks were reported near several settlements, including Kindrativka and Andriivka, as well as in the areas of Yunakivka and Varachyne.
Ukrainian forces have responded with counterattacks in these same locations, particularly near Kindrativka and Andriivka, as well as in the vicinity of Sadkiv and Yablunivka. Additional footage from July 17 shows that Russian forces have advanced southeast of Pokrovsk, reaching the village of Lysivka.
