Reveille Back on Track After Eye Surgery

In some surprising information released on Wednesday morning,Texas A&M’sThe mascot and top-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets, Reveille, had surgery to address a long-standing health problem.

A&M President General Mark A. Welsh IIIreported that Reveille was diagnosed with glaucoma. Based on advice from veterinarians at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, it was decided to move forward with the operation.

Throughout the process, indications of unusual tissue were identified, leading to the cautious removal of her eye. President Welsh issued the following statement following the surgery:

I want to express my gratitude by sharing that Miss Rev went through the surgery successfully, has been released, and is now resting peacefully. Our main concern is her health and happiness, and we are fortunate to have the highly skilled and compassionate veterinary team at Texas A&M who will keep an eye on Miss Rev as she continues her recovery journey.
