Renault Triber Facelift Launch in India
Renault has recently introduced the facelift version of its compact MPV, the Triber, in the Indian market. This marks the first significant update to the model since its launch approximately six years ago. The new Triber is priced between Rs 6.29 lakh and Rs 8.64 lakh, ex-showroom, and features cosmetic changes that are typical for a facelift model.
Cosmetic Changes and New Features
The Triber facelift comes with subtle cosmetic tweaks and new features aimed at enhancing its appeal. One of the most notable additions is the debut of Renault’s new diamond logo in India. This logo was previously seen on the Renault Boreal SUV, which was globally unveiled earlier this month.
Despite these visual updates, there have been no changes made under the hood. The engine and transmission options remain the same as before, retaining the 1-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72hp and 96Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission (AMT).
Price List and Variant Nomenclature
The new Triber facelift is available in four variants, each with a different price point:
- Authentic: Rs 6.29 lakh
- Evolution: Rs 7.24 lakh
- Techno: Rs 7.99 lakh
- Emotion: Rs 8.64 lakh
This new nomenclature for the variants reflects the updated design and feature set of the model.
Exterior Updates
The exterior of the Triber facelift has undergone several changes. The front fascia has been redesigned, featuring reprofiled headlamps and LED DRLs. A slimmer gloss-black grille with thick diagonal slats complements the new look. The bumper now includes a larger air intake and restyled fog lamps.
One of the most striking changes is the retro-influenced diamond logo, which makes its debut on a Renault India model. At the back, a new blacked-out trim bridges the smoked LED tail-lights, and the new Renault diamond motif replaces the ‘TRIBER’ lettering on the tailgate.
The profile of the vehicle also sees some changes, including redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels and gloss black door handles instead of chrome ones.
Engine and Transmission Options
Under the hood, the 2025 Triber facelift remains unchanged. It continues to be equipped with Renault’s 1-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which delivers modest power output of 72hp and 96Nm. This engine is also found in the Kiger SUV and is compatible with the E20 standard.
The engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT. Notably, a more powerful turbo-petrol version of the Triber, which has been long overdue, is still not available in the market. However, CNG retrofitment is offered for the MT models, along with a 3-year warranty.
Additional Information
The Triber facelift also comes with several other updates and features that enhance its overall appeal. These include improved interior design, enhanced connectivity options, and better safety features.
In addition to the Triber facelift, Renault has also introduced several other updates in the Indian market. These include the updated Maruti Ertiga, which now comes with 6 airbags as standard, and the leaked production specifications of the new Renault Kwid EV. Furthermore, Renault has established a new design studio in India, which is its largest outside of Europe.
