Dhaka, June 24 — Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes in all divisions, including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Tuesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions,” said a met office update.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, according to the BMD.
The country’s highest temperature 35.1 degree Celsius was recorded in Mongla of Bagerhat over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Monday while the lowest temperature 23.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Bandarban of till 6am on Tuesday.
Rains likely across country
The highest 134 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district in the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
