The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning about heavy monsoon rains that are expected to hit most parts of Punjab in the next 24 hours. Rainfall Recorded in Lahore and Surrounding Areas
Lahore experienced early morning rainfall today, with different parts of the city receiving varying amounts of precipitation. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) reported that Nishtar Town recorded the highest rainfall at 53mm. Other areas such as Jail Road saw 47mm of rain, while Qurtaba Chowk and Gulberg each received 44mm and 43mm respectively. These significant downpours have led to waterlogging on several roads, prompting WASA teams to work actively on clearing the affected areas.
Additional rainfall was recorded in other neighborhoods, including Gulshan Ravi with 35mm, Iqbal Town with 33mm, Samanabad with 28mm, and Johar Town with 27mm. Despite the heavy rains, WASA has assured the public that all disposal stations are functioning properly and that drainage operations are being carried out efficiently to prevent further complications.
