One of the most notable changes involves the removal of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ms. Maria Tariq from Pakpattan. She has been directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department (SandGAD). In her place, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Pakpattan, Captain (Retired) Zakhraf Fida Malik, has been given additional charge as Deputy Commissioner. This change comes in the wake of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s recent visit to Pakpattan, where she expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of local doctors and the Deputy Commissioner.
In addition to these changes, the government has also posted new officers to three senior roles. Muhammad Azhar Masood, who previously served as Director General (DG) Inspection in the Public Prosecution Department, has been appointed as DG Legal Aid Agency, Public Prosecution. Fareed Ahmed, who was awaiting posting, has now taken on the role of DG Inspection, Public Prosecution. Similarly, Naveed Ahmed, another officer who had been waiting for assignment, has been appointed as DG Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority (PERA).
Broader Reshuffle Across Punjab
This administrative shift is not limited to Pakpattan. A total of 15 Assistant Commissioners (ACs) across Punjab have been transferred or assigned to new roles. The reassignments aim to streamline operations and ensure that experienced personnel are placed in positions where their skills can be best utilized.
