Police Rescue Missing Children in Adamawa: Community Breathes a Sigh of Relief (International Edition)

Palpable relief erupted over the weekend when the Adamawa State Police Command found two missing children in Song and Mayo-Belwa Local Government Areas in the state.

The spokesman for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement issued on Sunday, said Hamza Abdullahi, 12 years old, was found on 29/6/2025 by a Good Samaritan and brought to the Divisional Police headquarters, in Song Local Government Area.

However, the second child, Idrisu Abdullahi, between eight and nine years old, was found on 28/6/2025 by the police in Mayo Belwa, Local Government Area.

“Hamza claimed he came from Dakoro village, Dukku Local Government Area, Gombe State. He was found around the IDP camp in Song.

“Idrisu claimed he came from Maiha along with his mother, Amrat Abdullahi, to Yola. Suddenly, he was found around Mbilla Primary Secondary in Mayo Belwa,” he stated.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, is soliciting support from members of the public to assist in tracing and uniting the found children with their parents.

He equally expressed worry about parents recklessly relinquishing their parental responsibilities upon their subjects thereby making them engage in conduct that endangers their well-being.
