The operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects identified as Ekundayo Ohimaye and Okuze Saturday over the disappearance of a mechanic, identified as Edward Onalise, in Edo State.
It was gathered that Edward Onalise, a Mercedes Bez mechanic, operating around the Airport Road and also a commercial driver reportedly disappeared on April 12, after he was allegedly hired by an unknown person.
It was gathered that on April 12, the 49- year- mechanic was reportedly hired by unknown person to help convey his fridge to Obazangbo community but didn’t return home.

It was gathered that the victim’s wife, Charity Onalise, after waiting for him without returning, called his mobile phone severally but switched off and she contacted his family members, who reported the matter to the police.
It was furthered gathered that the victim’s vehicle was later recovered on May, 25,2025 at a house in Obazangbon community, leading to the arrest of one suspect, identified as Ekundayo Ohimaye.
The suspect reportedly told the police that he bought the said vehicle from a man identified as Okunze Saturday, who was also arrested.
Source said following a search on Saturday’s house, the victim’s personal belongings such as mobile phone, radio transistor, slippers and two SIM cards were found.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, had ordered a full investigation to unravel the mystery surrounding the victim’s disappearance.
