The number of years I have lived, Matches the years Rwanda has been free, Free from the horror that once consumed it, Free from betrayal, division, and loss. Some broke sacred bonds. Families torn. Brothers killed. A nation broken. Then came the Rwandan Patriotic Front, They gave their all. They saved us. They gave us life, unity and purpose. Rwanda stood. Rescued. Rebuilt. A land of peace and dignity. This history is ours. Painful. Heavy. But we cannot run from it. To deny it… is to deny Rwanda itself. Rwanda was once peaceful, Until the strangers arrived. They colonized us. And divided us. King Musinga resisted. They exiled him. King Rudahigwa asked for independence. They killed him too. Even God left Rwanda for a while. And when He returned, He found her children killing each other. Values destroyed. Hatred enthroned. Humanity stolen. People were called cockroaches, Hunted with hoes, Banished with no names, no rest, no peace. Bravely, Inkotanyi answered the call. They healed our wounds. And restored our dignity. We said: “Rugamba left us love.” Let it guide us. Let it protect us. Let it live in us. God-sent Kagame Did the unimaginable. Restored our pride, Brought Rwanda to the world stage. Now the world comes to Rwanda. Not to mourn. But to learn. To marvel. To stay. Blessed are those born in this new Rwanda. A land of beauty, of peace, Of unmatched promise. Thanks to those who lit the path. Who pulled us from darkness. Who still protect us today. We built our land with wisdom, With courage like Musinga, With vision like Gihanga. And daily, People visit. Some return. And stay. Flourish, Rwanda of Gihanga! We, your children, love you deeply. The future is bright. And it is well guided in our hands. We will protect our progress. We will build on it. And to those who seek to destroy, We will resist; we will teach. And if they refuse, we move on without them. Rwanda will keep rising. Day by day, Stronger. Brighter. And forever free.
