Major Update for Persona 5: The Phantom X
Persona 5: The Phantom X has only been available for a few weeks, but the first major update is already here. This update is part of the developer’s plan to bring the global versions of the game up to speed with the Chinese version, which has been ahead by about a year. As a result, more updates are expected in the next six months, ensuring frequent content additions.
This initial update introduces a variety of new features and content that will keep players engaged. Whether you’re looking for more main story progression, new characters, or side activities, there’s something for everyone. Below is a detailed breakdown of what this update includes.
End of Main Story Chapter 2
Players who reached the end of the second Palace and were disappointed they couldn’t fight the boss can now take on the final boss of this chapter. This update adds the Palace’s ruler, allowing you to complete this section of the story. While specific details remain unknown, those who have played the Chinese version of the game report that this boss is one of the tougher challenges in the game, so be prepared for an intense battle.
New Limited-Time Banner – Yui and Minami
From today until July 24, players can obtain the 5-star Phantom Idols Yui (codename Bui) and Minami Miyashita (codename Mirian) through a new banner added with this update. It has been confirmed that unlike the Chinese version, Mirian will not be added to the standard banner after this limited-time event ends. This means that this is your only chance to acquire her until reruns are introduced several months from now.
Metro of Desire
A new roguelike-style mode called Metro of Desire is now available. In this mode, players ride a train through Mementos to reach the control center and defeat the boss for big rewards. During the Spin to Win Raffle event, which runs until July 24, players can earn items such as Platinum and Gold Tickets, as well as Milicoins.
Lufel’s Business Plan Parts 3 & 4
If you’ve completed all the rewards in the first two parts of Lufel’s Business Plan, you’ll now have the opportunity to unlock even more content with the addition of parts 3 and 4. Completing part 3 will reward you with a 5-star Cognitite Case, while completing part 4 will grant you a 5-star Weapon Case.
New Synergy Bond – Shun Kano
Shun Kano has been introduced as a new Synergy Bond in this update. This bond becomes available through a side mission once you complete the second Palace. - Yui
- Yaoling Li
- Motoha Arai
- Tomoko Noge
- Kayo Tomiyama
- Merope
New Sub-Stories
This update introduces two new sub-stories featuring students from Kokatsu Academy. These sub-stories function similarly to existing ones like Anderson and Minami. The characters include Ritsuka Takanashi, the vice president of the light music club, and Yota Kurusawa, the captain of the soccer club. Completing their stories will unlock new City Life activities.
New City Life Activities
Three new City Life activities have been added in this update:
- Part-time job at the Shinjuku Bookstore
- Band club practice
- Soccer practice
As with other City Life activities, spending action points on these will earn a combination of Yen, Social Stat increases, and unique rewards.
