Owen Farrell will sit on the substitutes’ bench as the British and Irish Lions aim to secure a series win against Australia in Melbourne this Saturday.
Four days following his leadership of the Lions in the midweek win against the First Nations and Pasifika, Farrell will debut in a Test match since the 2023 World Cup, taking on the roles of fly-half and inside centre.
Head coach Andy Farrell has introduced three adjustments to the starting team that secured a 27-19 victory in the first Test, including the exclusion of Sione Tuipulotu, who is not included in the 23-man squad at all, with Bundee Aki stepping in as the number 12 player.
Joe McCarthy has been defeated by his ongoing struggle with plantar fasciitis, leading to Ollie Chessum being brought in for the second row. There is also a change at the loosehead prop position, with Andrew Porter selected over Ellis Genge.
