LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Development company Ovation held a grand reveal for their newest affordable senior housing property, Heirloom by Pebble, a $48 million project that took nearly seven years to complete in the south Las Vegas valley.
“This is a unique one because it had so many federal partners,” Chief Operating Officer Jess Molasky said.
Some of the funding for the property came from the Clark County Community Housing Funds, Clark County’s Home Investment Partnerships Program, and the Nevada Housing Trust Fund. State Treasurer Zach Conine said every dollar the state spent on this project was worth the investment.
“Senior citizens are vulnerable in all sorts of ways, but especially with what’s happening in the economy right now, with the impact of tariffs, the impact of what’s happening with their tax base,” Conine told 8 News Now.
“We know senior citizens are going to be amongst the first hit, especially if these Medicaid cuts come through,” he continued. “That’s going to affect seniors right where it hurts, so they’re going to need a place to live that they can afford.”
He, as well as Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, were two of the prominent names in the valley who spoke at the grand reveal. Two residents also spoke at the event.
“It’s been fantastic,” said resident Mindy Bachrach, who was the second person to move in. “People in the office have helped with any problems we’ve had.”
In order to qualify, residents must be 55 or older and have a low or fixed income. There is currently a waitlist, which those who are interested can sign up for
online.
