The National Airports Authority (ONDA) is offering direct access to two advanced training programs for the first time: Air Navigation Control (CNA) and Air Traffic Safety Electronics (ESCA) at the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation. According to an official statement, these programs are now accessible via the National Common Competition (CNC), similar to conventional engineering degrees. ONDA states that the objective is to “train today’s top experts to manage Morocco’s skies of the future.”
ONDA refers to the change as a “major step forward” in alignment with its Airports 2030 plan. Previously, students could only access CNA and ESCA by first being accepted into other engineering programs, such as computer engineering (GI), industrial and production engineering (GIP), or electrical, electronic, and telecommunications engineering (GEET).
The authority states that this older pathway limited “the visibility and appeal of professions essential to the safety and performance of air transport.” The reform seeks to make training options more transparent, enhance candidate selection, and strengthen “the alignment between training and operational requirements.” ONDA notes that this “structural change will help improve quality standards while better equipping graduates for the challenges of the global aviation industry.”
